In March, 2009, Nintendo's generally family friendly Wii platform was rocked by Sega's release of Platinum Games' MadWorld, an "ultra ultra violent" with a Sin City style look and a game mechanic that rewarded players for finding complexly gruesome ways of dispatching foes. Platinum Games celebrated the anniversary of their debut title with a special illustration by the original artist, Masaki Yamanaka.
