Comedian T.J. Miller has become the first voice cast member announced for the upcoming Disney animated adaptation of Marvel's Japanese X-Men spin-off, Big Hero 6.
Miller is slated to voice Fredzilla, a transforming Godzilla-like kaiju of Ainu origin. Chris Williams, co-director and co-writer of Bolt, is set to co-direct the super hero adventure alongside Don Hall, who is helming the project.
Scheduled for November, the movie follows Giro Hamada, kid robotic genius, who tries to save his city of San Fransokyo from bad guys with the help of his tranforming dragon robot, Baymax, and fellow heros Go-Go Tomago, Honey Lemon, Wasabi and Fred.
The team was original bridged to the rest of the Marvel comics through Japanese hero Sunfire, who was introduced in 1970's Uncanny X-Men #64, was briefly an X-Man and then long time supporting cast member. His team debuted in the pages of Canadian super team comic Alpha Flight before getting their own 1998 mini-series, which got a follow-up in 2008.
