Swordsmiths challenged Evangelion’s world with their traditional skills. As a collaboration of Zennihon Tousyoukai (All Japan Swords Association) and movie “EVANGELION:3.0 YOU CAN (NOT) REDO.”, this exhibition started from Okayama prefecture’s Bizen Osafune Japanese sword museum, went throughout the country before going out to the world.
Exhibition will include “Lance of Longinus”, “Bizen Osafune,” and the “Magoroku Sword”, the key items in the story, and over twenty items inspired and forged by Evangelion’s world and characters. Five Japanese noted swords and accouterments, full-scaled Evangelion Unit 1 figure and original images will be exhibited too.
Exhibition of sword blades from Kamakura period to Edo period, scabbards, guards and grips will be another feature. Sword lectures by curator of Bizen Osafune Japanese sword museum as well as demonstrations by swordsmiths are planned for further interests.
Exhibition in Paris will be held at Maison de la culture du Japon a Paris from 30th April to 21st June, exhibition in Madrid will be held at Museo ABC from 5th July to 28th November.
