The World Video Game Hall of Fame's Class of 2017 has officially been decided, with four more games joining the lineup that was originally established in 2015. The latest inductees are Donkey Kong (1981), Halo: Combat Evolved (2001), Pokémon Red and Pokémon Green (1996), and Street Fighter II: The World Warrior (1991).
These four were chosen among twelve nominations, which were revealed back in March. Pokémon, Street Fighter II, and Tomb Raider had all been in the running before. New nominees that didn't make the cut this year include:
- Final Fantasy VII (1997)
- Microsoft Solitaire (1991)
- Mortal Kombat (1992)
- Myst (1993)
- Portal (2007)
- Resident Evil (1996)
- Wii Sports (2006)
You can see the full list of inducted games thus far on the World Video Game Hall of Fame's website.
