Following A Certain Scientific Railgun with Tokyo Verdy, another pro-soccer team based in Tokyo teams up with a popular anime/manga franchise. F.C.Tokyo in J. League Division 1 has announced that it will conduct various promotions featuring the upcoming TV anime World Trigger. The TV anime adaptation of Daisuke Ashihara's sci-fi action manga of the same name is scheduled to premiere in Japan on October 5.
What makes this collaboration possible are that some parts of the World Trigger story are set in along the Tama river in Chofu-city, where the team's home stadium Ajinomoto Stadium is located, and that Hideto Takahashi, one of the midfielders of the team, has been a big fan of the manga. In the future promotional campaign, the team will feature the anime's original illustrations and release various collaboration goods.
