FEATURE: What if “Attack on Titan” Had a K-Pop Cast?

FEATURE: What if “Attack on Titan” Had a K-Pop Cast?

I found out last month that one of the most epic anime, Attack on Titan, is going to be turned into a two series live action movie! After some intense investigative work (aka skimming the internet), it seems that the movie is currently being shot in Japan.

For those of you who are not familiar with the anime, it’s about the human race becoming extinct due to flesh-eating giants called Titans, and how humans are fighting back in order to survive this apocalyptic era. This anime is a lot more intense and suspenseful than how I just made it sound so you HAVE to watch it to understand how GREAT it is.

When I first heard that Attack on Titan was going to be translated into a live action movie, I was a little skeptical as to how it would turn out. I mean if you’ve seen The Last Airbender live action movie, it did the animated series no justice at all. Therefore, I was afraid that the live action of Attack on Titan might be another failure.

BUT, after seeing the Subaru Forester ad featuring the Titans, I was converted into a believer.

My Reaction

HOLY MOTHER OF ANIME, the face of that female Titan!!

Her enormous stature is intimidating enough, but her face makes her even MORE disturbing to look at. I would rather be stuck in a zombie apocalypse than with Titans. That way I could at least take refuge in a Costco. Otherwise, those Titans would just demolish Costco with me in it OR keep me alive on purpose so they can eat me!!

(Internal voice: OH GOD, NOOO! Calm down, think happy thoughts, happy thoughts, happy thoughts…)

Anyway! The ad gave me hope that the live action movie might not be so bad after all!

Attack on Titan: K-pop Cast

So with all this hype about the Japanese live action of Attack on Titan, it would be cool to see a Korean version of the movie as well. This leads to an interesting question:

If you could choose any K-pop star to be in Attack on Titan, who would it be and which character would he or she play?

Check out my choices!

1. Infinite’s L as Eren Jaeger:

The first idol that popped in my head when I thought of Eren Jaeger was Infinite’s L. Based on L’s personality, appearance, and his past work as an actor, I just get the feeling that he would be perfect for Eren’s role.

2. Big Bang’s G-Dragon as Captain Levi:

We all know Captain Levi is one badass leader. So who better to get his role than G-Dragon, another badass leader himself! Of course, G-Dragon has many sides to him like his cute, funny, happy, and swaggy sides, but we also know he has a fierce, charismatic, and tough persona as well. Not only that, but their physical appearance is pretty similar. Plus, it’d be cool to see G-Dragon as the blonde version of Levi! (Hehehehe)

3. Exo’s D.O as Armin Arlert

Photo cred: Google ( & )

This one is an interesting choice for me. I can’t seem to think of any other male idols fit for Armin’s role as much as EXO’s D.O. I was going back and forth with my sister on this one because she thought Ren from Nu’est would be better as Armin. Personally, I think D.O is the only that can pull off Armin’s character. Maybe it’s those big eyes that got me mesmerized, but he seems to have the shy, innocent, smart, and loyal personality of Armin’s character.

What about the female characters?

Now, I know I skipped out on the female characters like Mikasa Ackerman and Annie Leonhart, but that’s because it was DIFFICULT. Maybe it’s just my lack of knowledge about the K-pop girl groups out there, but I couldn’t think of any female K-pop idols that would fit the role of Mikasa and Annie. (My mind was completely blank!)

YOUR turn to choose!

Now it is your turn to choose which K-pop idols you would like to be in Attack on Titans and which roles you think they should play!

Bonus Challenge: Who do you think would be good for the role of Mikasa and Annie?!

Never Back Down,
