VIDEO: "Sabagebu!" Anime Ad

YuruYuri director Hidekichi Matsumoto has been tapped to helm a July 2014 anime adaptation of Hidekichi Matsumoto's (Kodansha Manga Award - Children's Category winner for Honto ni Atta! Reibai-SenseiSabagebu! - Survival Game Club. The manga, running in Nakayoshi, follows a girl, introduced to survival games after a classmate protects her from a train molester by pulling an airsoft gun on the groper.


 


Previous Matsumoto collaborator Takashi Aoshima (YuruYuri, Mitsudomoe) reunites to script the Pierrot Plus (Tegami Bachi, Beelzebub) production and Takashi Aoshima (Kotoura-sanLove Lab) works on series composition. Ayaka Ohashi, Lynn, Nao Tōyama, Rumi Ookubo and Yumi Uchiyama voice the club members.

The manga has been serialized in Kodansha'a monthly shoujyo manga magazine Nakayoshi since the January 2011 issue and so far five tankobon volumes have been published in Japan. The story revolves around a 15-year-old first grade high school girl Momoka Sonokawa. At the high school she recently transferred to, she is forced to join the Survival Game Club by the head of the club Miou Outori who is confident in her shooting skills. Unfortunately for her, none of the members of the club is an ordinary high school girl.
