Background and story
Originally a 4-panel manga by Hiroyuki, The Comic Artist and Assistants focuses on mangaka Yuuki Aito, who has trouble understanding the feelings of the characters in his own manga. In order to be able to realistically portray his characters, he asks for the help of his assistant, Ashisu Sahoto, who would do anything to help him—even going so far as to let him grope her so he knows what it feels like.
Voice actor Yoshitsugu Matsuoka, known for his roles as Shinji Kanemaru in Ace of the Diamond and Kirito from Sword Art Online, stars as the main character Yuuki, with voice actress Saori Hayami, Ayase Aragaki from Oreimo and Wako Agemaki from Star Driver, as assistant Ashisu. Both the opening theme and ending theme will be performed by the voice-actress idol-group, StylipS.
The Comic Artist and Assistants will be available to Crunchyroll’s audience in the following territories: USA, Canada, UK, Ireland, Australia, New Zealand, South Africa, Netherlands, Scandinavia, Turkey, Latin America, France and DOM/TOM, Belgium, Switzerland, Andorra, Netherlands, Luxembourg, Algeria, Tunisia, Morocco, Italy, Spain, Portugal, Germany, Austria, Liechtenstein, Poland, Hungary, Czech Republic, Romania, the Middle East and the Arab League.
