VIDEO: "Attack on Titan" and "Valvrave" Themes Hit on New Year's Concert

One of Japan's most popular New Year's traditions is the Kōhaku Uta Gassen, an annual NHK music show on New Year's Eve in which a "red" team of female artists competes against a "white" team of male artists.

2013 was a good year for anime songs (or anison) with crossover success, lots of sales and mainstream attention for Revo and Linked Horizon's Attack on Titan theme "Feuerroter Pfeil und Bogen" and Nana Mizuki and T.M. Revolution's Valvrave theme "Preserved Roses."

These were performed at this year's Kōhaku, including the unconventional male/female duet for "Preserved Roses" and "Kakumei Dualism."
