Haruka Ayase to Star in Live-Action TV Drama Adaptation of “Kyo wa Kaisha Yasumimasu.” Manga



It is officially announced today that Mari Fujimura’s love story manga Kyo wa Kaisha Yasumimasu. (I take a day off from my company) gets a live-action TV drama adaptation this October. 29-year-old popular actress Haruka Ayase will play the protagonist character Hanae Aoishi, 33-year-old clerical worker who has been too shy to date with men and has never had a boyfriend in her entire life. On her 33rd birthday, she drinks with Yuuto Tanokura, 21-year-old university student who is working part time at her company, then finds herself with him in a bed of a hotel next morning. Having no memory of losing her virginity, she starts dating with him who is 12 years old younger.



The manga has been serialized in Shueisha’s Cocohana since its January 2012 issue and now six tankobon volumes are available in Japan. Nihon TV will air the TV drama at 10:00 pm on every Wednesday this October. Haruka Ayase made her actress debut in the 2001 TV drama adaptation of


Kindaichi Case Files starring Jun Matsumoto (Arashi), then was highly-praised for her portrayal as Hotaru


Amemiya in the live-action TV drama/film adaptations of Satoru Hiura’s josei manga Hotaru no Hikari


produced from 2007 to 2012.
