"Utena" Theme Singer Celebrates 25 Years with New Single

Like every member of supergroup JAM Project, anisong performer Masami Okui has a massive solo career. Fans know her for her theme song work on shows like Revolutionary Girl Utena, Di Gi Charat, Yu-Gi-Oh!, and beyond. Soon, she will be celebrating 25 years in the industry with a brand new single, "Bubble."

Okui started her career in 1993 as a backup singer, performing with the likes of Yumi Matsutoya, and went on to supply her vocals to a variety of anime series. Her work with JAM Project features her unmistakable vocals leading songs like "Little Wing" from Scrapped Princess and opening out the Super Robot Wars theme "Rocks."

Her new single, "Innocent Bubble," drops August 30 in celebration of 25 years in the business.

Okui will also be appearing at Otakon's Anisong World Matsuri in August, along with the rest of JAM Project.
