At 00:00 on March 29 (JST), selected Japanese retailers started accepting pr-orders for FIGUREX's new life-sized figure of Ayase Aragaki from the Ore no Imouto ga Konnani Kawaii Wake ga Nai (Oreimo for short) franchise, at the price of 1,598,400 yen (including tax/about 14,382 US dollars). This is the 3rd product for the Oreimo novel author Tsukasa Fushimi's debut 10th anniversary project, and her pose of tucking up the sleeve of her school uniform skirt was designed by the novel illustrator Hiro Kanzaki. Pre-orders for the 20-limited item will be accepted till April 28 and its scheduled shipping date in in January 2018.
Based parts of the 162cm-tall figure are made by a 3D printer, using PLA (polylactic acid) instead of FRP (fiber-glass reinforced plastic) that has been used for previous life-sized figures. Since PLA is made from corn and sweet potato based resins, the Ayase figure has no toxic effect for its owners. FIGUREX also plans to release life-sized figures of other two heroines from the Oreimo franchise,
Kirino Kousaka and Kuroneko (Ruri Gokou), in future.
