Ikimonogakari Performs Theme Song for "Ao Haru Ride" Live-Action Film

It is confirmed today on October 7 that three-member Japanese rock band Ikimonogakari performs "Kirari," the theme song for the upcoming live-action film adaptation of Io Sakisaka's Ao Haru Ride shoujo manga. The director of the film, Takahiro Miki has worked on several promotional video for their past singles including "YELL" (15th in September 2009) and "Kaze ga Fuiteiru" (24th in July 2012), so the band happily accepted the offer to provide their new song for the film. "Kirari" is written/composed by the band's guitarist Yoshiki Mizuno and arranged by Akimitsu Honma, who is famous for his producing works for Porno Graffitti and Ayumi Hamasaki.

The highly-anticipated love story film is slated for release in Japan on December 13. 21-year-old actress/fashion model Tsubasa Honda (FASHION STORY-Model-, It All Began When I Met You) plays the protagonist high school girl Futaba Yoshioka along with 26-year-old Masahiro Higashide (Crows Explode)

as her first love Kou Mabuchi.
