The subject of upcoming tokusatsu film Jyosizu is kind of like your familiar Power Rangers sentai team, except that, as the name suggests, they're all girls, and that team work isn't exactly their forte.
The comedy-action film is written/directed by Yuichi Fukuda (last year's HK/Hentai Kamen).
The girl's costumes are designed by manga artist Kazuhiko Shimamoto, who is also known as the original character designer for the 1994 TV anime Mobile Fighter G Gundam and currently working on the manga reboot of the anime titled Chokyu! Mobile Fighter G Gundam in Kadokawa Shoten's Gundam Ace since August 2010. Yuichi Fukuda's film writer debut was for the 2005 live-action film adaptation of Shimamoto's popular baseball manga Gyakyou Nine.
The five actresses who play the problematic super heroines are; Mirei Kiritani (Red/Naoko Akagi), Mina Fujii (Blue/Mika aota), Mitsuki Takahata (Yellow/Yuri Kikawada), Kasumi Asumi (Green/Konoko Midoriyama), and Mitsuki Yamamoto (Navy/Sumire Konno). The theme song "Jyoshi's Theme" is sung by popular anime voice actor Daisuke Namikawa. The film hits Japanese theaters on June 7.
